Issue: Hunting
Protecting and Promoting our Hunting Traditions
Hunting,
fishing and trapping are traditions that have defined this country from
it's very beginning. They provide individuals with a personal connection
to the great outdoors as well as important family bonding opportunities.
Perhaps most importantly sportsmen have been the backbone of the conservation
of fish and wildlife and their habitats for generations. However, participation
in these outdoor sports is declining and those that would like to end hunting
and fishing make regular attempts at undermining these traditions. Members
of the American Wildlife Conservation Partners have confronted anti-sportsmen
issues as well as worked together to recruit and retain new hunters and
anglers.
